The Hellenic Committee of Hydrogeology organizes the 11th International Hydrogeological Congress of Greece, which will be held in Athens from 4 to 6 October 2017 (opening ceremony on the 4th of October and paper presentations on the 5th and 6th). The Congress is organized, in collaboration with the Association of Geologists and Mining Engineers of Cyprus.
The Congress is aimed at scientists, researchers, students, government officials, experts and professionals dealing with groundwater and the environment. Its objective is the presentation and exchange of ideas, solutions and expertise regarding the most important current hydrogeological problems as well as the promotion of science and theoretical knowledge in the field. The Congress emphasizes on the contribution of natural environment to the protection of aquifers against their qualitative and quantitative degradation and to the limitation of their vulnerability.
The official languages of the Congress are Greek and English with simultaneous translation.
A post-congress fieldtrip is expected to be held on 7th of October 2017, visiting the area of Lavrio (Attica). In addition, products and services exhibition will be held related to the activities of Organizations and Companies of the water industry, software packages, instruments, publications and other related activities.
This call aims at hydrogeologists, geoscientists (tectonic geologists and geophysicists) and scientists in the field of water resources, water management, water protection, water applications and water history (e.g. engineers, agricultural scientists, chemists, archaeologists and others).
